Description
A painting based on a vintage drawing from 1944 by Rodolphe Schönberg a Belgian artist who was born in Brussels in 1901 and who died in Schaerbeek in 1944. He was a painter, watercolorist, draftsman, graphic artist and etcher. He was educated at the Academy. He created cityscapes, landscapes, river and harbor views and still lifes. His design was realistic. Fishermen, the port, the inhabitants, the ships and the numerous monuments were his inspiration. From the beginning of the Second World War he was active in the resistance. On June 22, 1941 he disappeared and became s political secretary of Walloon Brabant under the name Grégoire, he was arrested by the Gestapo on 13 May 1944 and executed around July 1944.
