This painting was created from a sketch of an actual flower that was converted to a stencil mask. Using the mask, the background was created with spray paints. The details were then worked up with ink, acrylics, conte and other materials. On illustration board.
I am a graphic designer, artist and commercial illustrator from the "old school". I have tons of early works that are now on the market and many more in the "file cabinet" that I hope to bring to light soon. I'm really enjoying the move over to digital programs and marveling at the new life it gives to some of my old drawings and paintings.
